President
Rev. Carrie Wright is currently the Minister of Music at St. John’s UMC in Fort Mill, SC. She has a B.S. Ed in Music from Western Carolina University and an M.S.M from Perkins School of Theology/Southern Methodist University. At St. John’s she oversees the entire worship arts program including various choirs for all ages, handbell choirs, worship teams, and instrumental ministries as well as helping to create liaisons between the church and the outreach needs within the community. Carrie has been a member of FUMMWA since 2001.

Maryette has a BA in Elementary Education from High Point College (now University) and a minor in Organ. She taught 5th grade for 22 years and Instructional Technology in the elementary school for 3 years until retirement in 2001. She has been an organist for 48 years (38 at Broad Street UMC) and is also currently serving as Membership Secretary at Broad Street UMC. Maryette and her husband, Allen have 4 children and 8 grandchildren, all living near the coast, so she spends part of her time down there. She enjoys exercising, especially water aerobics, and reading.
Vice President Keith Smith is Director of Music and Drama at First United Methodist Church of Lenoir, Music and Drama Teacher at Morganton Day School, Director of the Caldwell Men’s Chorus, Director of the Crossnore, NC outdoor drama, "Miracle on the Mountain" and Director of Dinner Theatre for the Town of Hudson. Keith has worked in and out of church music for the past 30 years and is glad to currently be "in!" He is also very involved in theatre and has been involved in over 100 plays as a director, music director and/or actor. Keith has written several shows for children, including a show about Johnny Appleseed that played to thousands of North Carolina school children. He has sung with the National Opera Company of Raleigh and the Atlanta Symphony Chorus. He says he has found his niche in the Methodist Church. Secretary
Ron joined the staff of St. Luke's in January of 1994. He is responsible for music, visual arts, and drama ministries. He lives on a farm in Marion with his wife, Marcia and an assortment of "critters". Ron is also on the Board of Directors of the Fellowship of United Methodist in Music and Worship Arts for the Western N.C. Conference, and also on the Board of Directors for the N.C. United Methodist All-State Youth Choir.
